Connecting Horizons: Agrupamento de Escolas de Monserrate, I.E.S. Urbano Lugrís and PICE Association explore and debate key topics on the European Union

The virtual meeting “Connecting Horizons: EPAS and AWKE Education” between Portugal and Spain took place on May 23rd. We joined forces between the Agrupamento de Escolas de Monserrate (Portugal), the I.E.S. Urbano Lugrís (Spain) and the PICE Association (Spain) to explore and debate key topics on the European Union.

We would like to highlight the special participation of 12th grade students from classes E and I (Portugal), from the History, Cultures and Democracy subject (HCD – 12th grade option) and 3rd and 4th year secondary school students and 1st baccalaureate students (Spain). These young people were at the forefront of our discussions, presenting their perspectives and sharing knowledge with enthusiasm and motivation.

This event was held as part of the EPAS (European Parliament Ambassador School) program and the Erasmus+ AWKE (A Welcome Kit to Europe) project, for the joint implementation of WP5 (European Meetings). We deepened our knowledge of the principles and values of the EU, its institutions, the Schengen area, the European elections, the single currency and the programs that encourage young people to participate in the EU.

Our aim was to promote a constructive dialog between students and teachers, exchanging ideas and experiences.

We would like to thank everyone for their active participation and valuable contributions, as well as all the staff who supported and collaborated to make this event a success.

We are sure that this meeting was enriching for everyone!
